A long-term technology infrastructure investment in Townsville County
Project Townsville is a proposed advanced computing and digital infrastructure campus being developed by Meridian Compute Partners in Townsville County.
The project is designed to support the growing demand for secure, reliable computing capacity used by businesses, researchers, universities, health care organizations, manufacturers, and emerging technology companies.
Development is expected to take place in carefully planned phases. Throughout the process, the Project Townsville team will work with local officials, utility partners, educators, workforce organizations, businesses, and residents to ensure the project is developed responsibly.
The project is being planned to:
- Fund the infrastructure and utility improvements required for its operations
- Use high-efficiency, closed-loop cooling technology
- Create hundreds of permanent jobs
- Support thousands of construction and skilled-trade positions
- Generate long-term local and state tax revenue
- Create new opportunities for regional contractors and suppliers
- Invest directly in education and workforce development
- Preserve natural buffers around the project site
Paying Our Own Way
Project Townsville will be responsible for the utility infrastructure and service costs required to support the campus. These costs will not be shifted to existing residential customers.
The project team is working directly with Townsville Electric Cooperative and regional utility partners to plan the required infrastructure, identify system improvements, and establish long-term service agreements.

All figures are preliminary and may change as planning, engineering, permitting, and community engagement continue.
Responsible Water Use
The campus will use a closed-loop cooling system that recirculates water throughout the facility rather than continuously withdrawing and discharging large volumes.
Once operational, most ongoing water use will support normal workplace needs, including restrooms, kitchens, sanitation, landscaping, and routine maintenance.
Creating Local Opportunity
Project Townsville is expected to create opportunities for electricians, equipment operators, pipefitters, mechanics, technicians, security professionals, engineers, construction managers, administrative staff, and other skilled workers.
The project will also require support from local businesses providing materials, transportation, food service, lodging, landscaping, maintenance, environmental services, office supplies, and other essential services.
Long-Term Community Benefits
Meridian Compute Partners plans to establish the Townsville Community Advancement Fund, a long-term community investment program shaped by local priorities.
